Much of the content on this website will be the result of my doing research related to the improvement of Wikipedia (WP) articles. Soon I will reach the 20th year since opening my account on WP. During that time I have made many edits, and added new articles. Six articles for which I have added more than half the content have passed review to be labeled “Good Articles”.
I am not a “Wikipedian” who edits in order to further the project of creating a free encyclopedia that (almost) everyone can edit and is comparable to the printed encyclopedias of the past. My familiarity with WP leads me to a view that this project is currently a failure, and will remain so. WP is a massive conglomeration of the trivial, the mediocre, and the truly encyclopedic, but the reader has no way of knowing which is true of the particular article the internet has served up as a result of their query.
I have a diverse academic background, and have tried to stay within the boundaries of my expertise while improving WP articles and adding to my knowledge. I have learned one of the rules of WP, each statement must be supported by a reliable source but,”no original research” can be added to draw inferences from those sources. This website will allow me to do just that.
